Online Jitter Test
Measure how browser-to-endpoint response times vary during a live test. Longer sessions provide more observations to help reveal changing conditions.
Measure connection jitter
Ready to test
Round-trip timing to the selected PingWatch server.
Latency over time
Round-trip time · milliseconds
Successful response Failed probe
Jitter is the mean absolute difference between consecutive successful latency readings. Failed probes are excluded from the jitter calculation.
How to read this jitter test
PingWatch reports the average change between consecutive successful browser-to-endpoint round-trip measurements. A session needs at least two successful readings before jitter can be calculated. The value describes this test window; any labels or interpretations are practical heuristics, not universal quality standards.
What this test measures—and what it does not
Measurements are HTTP or WebSocket round trips between your browser and the selected PingWatch server. This is not an ICMP ping test and does not directly measure latency to a game server. Browser scheduling, device load, and endpoint conditions can influence results. Failed probes are application-level monitoring failures and are not necessarily network packet loss. This test does not measure download or upload speed, and its results cannot guarantee performance in a particular game, call, or streaming service.
